A Byron Bay Lighthouse Proposal

Byron Bay Proposal, The Lighthouse

Ryan chose the most Easterly point in Australia, at sunrise, for his Byron Bay proposal. Where the sun hits Australia first every day, Cape Byron Lighthouse. So romantic! Ryan called me last week to see if I was free to photograph his surprise marriage proposal to Maddison. I jumped at the chance! Coming from Orange, they chose Byron Bay for a long weekend break and to soak up the sunshine. Ryan thought Cape Byron Lighthouse at sunrise would be the perfect spot to pop the question.

Even I had butterflies waiting for them to arrive and for Ryan to get one down on my knee. It’s always a fine balancing act for the photographer when shooting proposal. You need to stay out of the way so no one suspects a thing but also be in the right place to get the shots. It’s an art form! I always love shooting proposals as they are so heartfelt. It’s a true expression of love at its purest.

If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your Byron Bay proposal, look no further! I know all the best spots and know how to capture your big moment in a natural and candid way. Contact me by clicking here.

HOT TIP! If you’re considering having your Byron Bay proposal at sunrise at the lighthouse, get there early. The gates at the lighthouse don’t open until 8:00 a.m. and with sunrise being anywhere from 530am onwards you will need to park at one of the two little car parks down the road and walk up about 200 metres. But totally worth the effort! Sunrise isn’t the only time of day I’d recommend proposing at the lighthouse. Sunset is also magical.
