Byron Bay proposal photography

CAPE BYRON LIGHTHOUSE & BEYOND

If you’re planning to propose in Byron, I’ll be somewhere nearby with a long lens, already in position, looking like anyone else on the headland. You get the moment as it actually happened – the face, the hands, the second before they know.

Cape Byron Lighthouse at sunset is the one everyone asks for, and it earns it. But Wategos, the Pass and the hinterland all work, and I’ll tell you honestly which one suits the time of day you’ve picked.

I’ll help with the bits around it too. I’ve arranged a bouquet with Haven Botanical in Mullumbimby before now, and I’m very happy to do it again.

Let’s plan the surprise

Tell me the date, roughly where you’re thinking, and whether they have any idea. I’ll sort the rest.

I’ll be there early, hidden and ready, so the first they know about me is when you point. After that I’ll keep shooting for half an hour or so while the shock wears off – those are usually the best frames of the lot.

Sunrise at the lighthouse is the classic for a reason, but I’m happy to be talked into a beach, a hinterland lookout, or your own back deck. If you’re stuck for where, there are ten ways to propose in Byron Bay to borrow from.

Send me a rough date even if nothing is fixed. Sunrise slots at the lighthouse go early in summer, and I’d rather hold one than have you miss it.
